Electrical Engineer II
General Description
The Electrical Engineer II reports to the Engineering Manager and will work across all departments and functional groups within the plant. Projects will include:
- Designing new control systems and upgrading existing ones.
- Assisting teams working on problems and improving processes.
- Documenting electrical systems through wiring diagrams, schematics.
- Writing clear, concise programs (Ladder Logic, Basic, Excel Macros, etc.) with remarks that explain the logic used.
- Improving safety related systems.
Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer II will support the plant by:
- Managing several projects at once while hitting budgets, milestones and completing projects on time.
- Estimating material, labor or construction costs for budgetary purposes.
- Leading or participating on teams.
- Using formal meetings with agendas and minutes and publishing meeting details.
- Providing guidance to employees with electrical/electronic questions.
- Developing and maintaining drawings and documents pertaining to electrical/electronic systems within the plant.
- Installing, maintaining, servicing and designing electronic systems.
Skills
The Electrical Engineer II will have the following skill set:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment control systems and logic.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent with AutoCAD packages.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. A critical thinker.
- Ability to explain to, teach or train coworkers.
- In depth knowledge of electrical standards.
- Able to perform circuit design and analysis proficiently.
- Can actively read and manipulate electrical instruments to aid in troubleshooting or designing circuits.
- Excellent understanding of mathematics and physics.
- Ability to program or code from Excel to PLC ladder logic.
Experience
The Electrical Engineer II will have at least 3 - 7 years of related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Siemens and Automation Direct PLC’s, Wonderware, Visual Basic, Factory Talk, Panelview is a must.
Education
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. If an Associate’s Degree, must have documented plans for Bachelor’s Degree to be considered.
