Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Primary Function
Carryout regular preventative maintenance tasks on plant and equipment to mitigate downtime during scheduled operation. This includes, but is not limited to: lubrication (grease & oil), filter replacement (air & lubricant), and completion of equipment check lists.
Carry out routine check on plant and equipment.
Comply with all necessary safety measures in the course of discharging duties so as to prevent accident and injury, or damage to facility equipment or materials.
Diagnose and repair or replace worn parts in machine and equipment.
Operate powered industrial trucks.
Ensure the work environment is free of hazardous objects and substances.
May be required to guide/assist external technicians/sub-contractors (compressors, HVAC equipment, boilers).
May be required to work flexible schedules, including Saturdays and Sundays, and on rotating shift assignments including first, second & third shifts.
Enter data/details on work activities into eMaint on daily basis, including all procurement, parts consumed, and time taken to complete activities.
Document new PMs or edit current procedures in eMaint on a regular basis.
In order to excel, the PM Technician must be innovative, constantly using continuous improvement techniques to improve PM and equipment performance.
In the case of major mechanical or electrical failure, the technician is expected to report to the department manager.
In addition, the PM Technician must maintain good communication with the members of the technical team and management.
