Job Title: Manufacturing / Ink Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing / Ink Technician is responsible for safely manufacturing high-quality products while performing ink preparation, color matching, batch processing, packaging, quality inspections, and equipment operation. This role supports production by following established manufacturing processes, maintaining product quality, operating safely, and ensuring accurate documentation. The Manufacturing / Ink Technician is expected to become proficient across multiple production processes while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Follow all Flint Group safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Operate manufacturing and processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform batch processing activities, including material handling, weighing, blending, mixing, monitoring, and processing raw materials.
- Prepare, dispense, and quality check press-ready inks according to customer specifications.
- Perform color matching using approved procedures, spectrophotometers, and color management software.
- Monitor production processes and accurately record production and quality data in company systems.
- Package finished products according to customer and quality specifications.
- Clean and sanitize process tanks, manufacturing equipment, and work areas.
- Inspect equipment and troubleshoot production or quality issues as they arise.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process specifications.
- Maintain Lean and 5S standards to support workplace organization and efficiency.
- Perform daily housekeeping and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, quality personnel, and fellow team members.
- Cross-train and become proficient in multiple manufacturing and ink production workstations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Work overtime and flexible schedules as needed to meet customer and business demands.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Education
- High School diploma or GED required.
Experience
- One (1) year of manufacturing, printing, ink manufacturing, or industrial production experience, required.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify color variations and quality issues.
- Experience using color management systems or spectrophotometers is preferred.
- Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to learn and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, climb stairs, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments.
- Must be able to safely wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to distinguish colors accurately for color matching and quality control activities.
