What’s Essential to Success

The Production Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing operations are safe, efficient, on time, and within budget, while minimizing waste. Success in this role requires strong emotional intelligence, organizational skills, prioritization, and hands-on production manufacturing expertise.

You must demonstrate decisive leadership and the ability to coordinate and align Production Supervisors and support functions—including Safety, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, and Administration—to meet operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, reinforce, and sustain a strong safety-first culture
  • Address production-related safety audit findings through process improvements, updated procedures, and/or maintenance solutions
  • Lead and develop strong working relationships to drive high performance and accountability
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on production matters including batch sizing, equipment utilization, and material sourcing
  • Build and lead a team that communicates effectively across departments and fosters a continuous improvement culture
  • Ensure production objectives are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and procedures

Performance Metrics

Success will be measured using key indicators, including:

  • Total Incident Rate (TIR)
  • Product quality
  • On-time delivery
  • Production efficiency
  • Conversion cost improvement

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

Candidates with Six Sigma and/or PMI knowledge are strongly preferred. The role emphasizes optimization of manufacturing processes through:

  • Implementation and sustainment of 5S principles
  • Application of Lean manufacturing techniques
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Effective direction of personnel to maintain high equipment utilization and production efficiency
  • Use of production boards to clearly communicate expectations and performance to operators

People & Process Management

  • Manage production personnel in accordance with company policies, safety standards, and operating procedures
  • Partner with support functions to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
