Job Title:  Manager, Maintenance

A global manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our growing team in a Northeast suburb of Cincinnati. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of all manufacturing and support equipment while adhering to the corporate quality and safety standards.

 

Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Operations and Engineering. Responsible for all company maintenance functions to support all production and support equipment. Adhering to the corporate, federal, state and local safety requirements. Assist in initiating and implementing quality and reliability improvement activities appropriate to raise the performance of the production equipment. Educate and train employees as to their impact in the maintenance process. Operate the department within established company and corporate guidelines. Top line management of Capital Expenditure Projects. Direct collaboration and synergy with the Production Manager is vital to success in this role.

 

Job Duties:

Establish and operate the facility maintenance requirements within a staffing and expense budget.

Manage all maintenance personnel including but not limited to: hiring, training, retention, payroll, and conflict resolution and performance evaluations.

Ensure staff coverage to meet production schedules. Coach staff with regards to proper maintenance practices and processes and provide feedback on a regular basis.

Ensures the proper completion of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and support of all production related equipment.

Maintain adequate spare parts inventories for all production and support equipment utilizing eMaint software suite.

Ensure that the production equipment and areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner.

Establish, implement and report metrics for the performance of the production equipment to management.

Develop a training regimen for all maintenance staff members and positions.

Develop and ensure departmental KPI’s are within company and corporate expectations.

Perform root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify corrective actions and process improvements.

Report to management on production equipment issues, trends and losses.

Work closely with corporate infrastructure to ensure proper maintenance of the facility and grounds.

Ensure all maintenance actions are completed properly while adhering to all OSHA / NFPA safety standards.

Work with department heads to increase productivity in their respective areas.

Support all local and corporate LEAN initiatives.

Assist EHS manager with PSM responsibility.

 

Accountabilities:

Performance of production and facility equipment.

Maintaining and achieving equipment OEE goals.

Workforce training and development

Overall performance of the maintenance department.

Installation of new production equipment.

Compliance with all OSHA/NFPA standards.

Work with and monitor contractor’s on site to ensure safe work practices are adhered to.

 

Job Specifications:

Work performed in a medium / heavy industrial setting.

Exposure to shop noise.

Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Regularly required to sit, stand, reach and move about facilities.

Travel at times, including international.

 

Qualifications:

4 Year degree (engineering or technical degree preferred) or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years in manufacturing management.

2+ years’ experience in ink or chemical manufacturing plant preferred.

Knowledge of theory, principles and application of lean manufacturing.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Above average knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.

Proficient in long term, mid-range and micro scheduling.

Above average computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Understanding of general safety requirements.
