Job Title: Manager, Technical Service
The Technical Account Manager position is a high profile assignment within the North American Packaging ink business and a critical component of divisional strategy. Effectively manages all technical aspects of the assigned accounts. Establishes constructive business relations with key customer operating and procurement personnel and rapidly resolves customers’ issues. Accounts are located within a specific geographical territory, with Other areas as required based on business needs. Travel (50-70%) to customer manufacturing sites, R&D and technical centers, and corporate offices is required, based on business needs and is subject to change.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Support the execution of the customer strategy for the assigned account
- Build alignment with the customers Innovation Team to support their long term growth opportunities
- Align the customer technically with Flint’s product management and product development team to insure the best total value is delivered
- Manage the response to technical issues implementing effective root cause and corrective action processes
- Incorporate Six-Sigma methodologies and disciplines into processes and communication
- Manage Solutions initiatives at all sites to deliver, measure and sustain productivity gains
- Coordinate interface between customer and other company resources to provide value added service to accounts.
- Execute the division strategies in a timely manner as communicated by division Vice Presidents.
- Develop and manage action register documents and conduct routine meetings with the customer to update on open projects.
COMPETENCIES:
- Proven ability to work in a team environment, with the capability to lead and influence others
- Expertise in the specialty chemicals, coatings or inks
- Demonstrated successful project leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree in chemistry, engineering, printing or related field preferred. Experience may be substituted for education requirements.
EXPERIENCE: 10 years of progressive experience in technical program or project management working across functions and within the organization to achieve his/her goals. Ink or specialty chemical industry experience is a plus.
