Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Manager to lead daily operations at our Ontario, CA manufacturing site. This site plays a critical role in serving regional customer demand, and the Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, inventory, shipping/receiving, safety, and quality control.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong sense of ownership, lean mindset, and the ability to operate autonomously while collaborating with off-site leadership. The ideal candidate will be an organized problem solver who can balance daily execution with continuous improvement and safety culture leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily production activities, ensuring schedule adherence and OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) performance.
  • Champion safety adherence and improvements across all operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels and maintain accurate SAP transactions.
  • Generate and close batch tickets, ensuring accurate documentation, traceability, and material reconciliation.
  • Supervise and coordinate shipping, receiving, and quality control processes.
  • Provide direct daily leadership to the site team, including training, task delegation, and performance feedback.
  • Promote and implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance workplace organization.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; lead 5S, safety audits, and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Communicate regularly with the off-site Regional Manager and cross-functional partners (supply chain, customer service, quality).
  • Monitor daily KPIs and initiate corrective actions as needed to support customer demand and service levels.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production leadership role.
  • Proven experience improving or managing safety systems, behaviors, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, production scheduling, and order fulfillment.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing tools and practices (5S, visual management, standard work, etc.).
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and documentation standards.
  • Comfortable using ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).
  • Effective communicator with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable operating with limited on-site supervision.
