Job Title:  Graphic Technician

Coordinate and manage finished ink supply and process within the customer’s location. Communicate with the customer to ensure accurate product demand, while recognizing the Customer’s and Flint Group working capital targets.

 

Unsupported image type.KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Achieve a zero work place injury and incident record by maintaining a clean and organized work place. Comply with all Flint Group and Customer’s Safety requirements including your completion of yearly / monthly safety training assignments and the wearing of personal protection equipment. A clean work space is a safe work place.

 

  • Coordinate formulation of new inks to ensure customer requirements are met.

 

  • Maintain all ink formulas and create external backup copies.

 

  • Manage ink inventory and storage areas.

 

  • Coordinate ordering and scheduling of ink deliveries and ink inventories for the customer.

 

  • Create and manage all customer color swatches with logged traceability.

 

  • Maintain all digital color files and create external backup.

 

  • Spectral values of all colors are to be checked and recorded prior to delivery to press staging area

 

  • Work with Flint Group manufacturing facility for any modifications needed to ensure consistency.

 

  • Maintain ink dispenser formulations, job reporting and ensure that the unit is kept clean.

 

  • Correlate and maintain all hand proofers to be in optimum functionality.

 

  • Develop and maintain a plan to work off press returns and obsolete materials and perform appropriate record keeping functions.

 

  • Coordinate annual Xrite spectrophotometer certifications for Flint Group and Customer.

 

  • Calibrate pH meters weekly for the presses and internal use with logged traceability.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CUSTOMER INTERACTION:

 

  • Participate in customer’s daily scheduling meetings to ensure full knowledge of upcoming production schedules and ink requirements.

 

  • Provide technical support by attending and participating in customer’s meetings regarding printing efficiency and ink quality concerns.  On call 24 hours for addressing service issues.

 

  • Provide training for the customer regarding ink management and “on press” performance internally or through Flint Group technical service teams.

 

  • Provide process improvement suggestions to customer, in conjunction with other company experts.

 

  • Create call log reports with monthly follow ups with the customer to ensure corrective actions are in place. 

 

 

LEADERSHIP:

 

  • Work schedule is based upon a 40 hour week.  Daily 8 hour shift schedule can be adjusted to support specific customer requests when required. 

 

  • Be available for support at all times for assistance within the customers manufacturing schedule.

 

  • Identify, set and review quality standards for customers.  Effectively coordinate efforts with key customer personnel, particularly during qualifications.

 

  • Work with the customer in building strong teams and collaboration efforts.

 

  • All work absences must be communicated to your direct manager.  PTO leave must be communicated and approved by your direct manager so that adequate coverage can be planned during absence.
