POSITION SUMMARY:
The NA Packaging GTC Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives across the North American Packaging Graphic Technical Centers (GTCs). This role conducts operational and process assessments, coaches and trains GTC personnel, and develops and implements action plans to improve operational performance.
The CI Specialist also supports the layout, design, and implementation of GTCs at new customer locations. The role partners closely with Regional Graphic Technical Managers, Commercial Managers, customers, and Flint Group Technical Services to drive continuous improvement, deliver exceptional service, and achieve operational, quality, safety, and financial objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Maintain compliance with all Flint Group and customer Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and requirements.
· Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of GTC standard operating procedures and operational documentation.
· Identify opportunities to improve inventory management practices and reduce rework, waste, and operational inefficiencies.
· Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
· Ensure accurate production, quality, inventory, and KPI reporting and documentation.
· Partner with GTC teams to identify performance gaps, develop corrective action plans, and monitor progress.
· Build strong customer relationships and support operational and business objectives.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical, manufacturing, engineering, or business-related field preferred.
· 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing, printing, ink, technical service, or a related production environment.
· Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies, operational assessments, process improvement, and project implementation.
· Strong knowledge of ink management, color matching, inventory control, quality systems, and production processes.
· Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and influence employees and operational teams.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including the ability to use operational data and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relationship management skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/inventory management systems.
· Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities across locations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Ability to travel approximately 50–70%, based on business needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
· Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to work in manufacturing and pressroom environments.
· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Ability to distinguish colors accurately for color matching and quality inspections.
