Job Overview

Xeikon is looking for a Product Manager to manage our UV and water based inkjet portfolio in Lier, Belgium. This is a hybrid role with 20% - 30% travel due to supporting field activities.

This position directly owns a product line from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profits and meet marketing, financial, and growth objectives. Duties include researching the product market and competitors, creating compelling messaging and brand awareness, and managing the product life cycle.

This position reports to the Head of Project Management Office.

Key Responsibilities

Assists in leading the overall product line strategy and facilitates research and development requirements, development, manufacturing, and engineering coordination for new or expanded products as well as new emerging product market needs.

Manages day-to-day progress of Product, Pricing, Positioning, and Placement.

Assists the sales team - Provides the assistance required to carry out all corporate sales and marketing strategies.

Oversees technical product development together with the R&D project managers, estimates of potential profits and releases to sales.

Creates supporting tools (cost calculation, collateral, specification sheets,  ...).

Builds, maintains and drives relationships with strategic partners.

Education 

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field experience in Product Management – ideally in the (inkjet) print industry or a capital equipment company.

Core Skills

Communication: Being able to clearly and concisely convey ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences is crucial. This includes writing effective user stories, product requirements documents, and collaborating with engineers, designers, and marketers.

Prioritization: Product managers juggle multiple features and tasks. They need to prioritize effectively to ensure the team focuses on what matters most for the product and the business.

Data Analysis: Data is king in product management. You'll need to be able to analyze user behavior, market trends, and other data to inform product decisions.

User Empathy: Understanding your users' needs and motivations is paramount. Product managers need to be able to conduct user research, gather feedback, and translate that into a product that solves real problems.

Additional Skills

Technical Skills: Having experience in label and/or corrugated packaging and an understanding of print production processes and technical limitations is a big asset.

Project Management: Being able to plan, track progress, and manage resources is essential for bringing products to life on time and within budget.

Strategic Thinking: Product managers need to see the big picture. This includes understanding the competitive landscape, market trends, and how the product fits into the overall business strategy.
