Job Title:  Material Handler

The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of materials within the warehouse and from the warehouse to other departments. The work primarily involves the use of fork truck, pallet jack, or other mechanical means of transportation to stock and pick required materials according to internal and external customer orders.

Major Areas of Accountability

• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
• Able to utilize the SAP computer software for label printing
• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and operating safely.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Utilizes SAP as it relates to shipping and receiving
• Attendance is an essential function of this position and we rely on all our employees to be at work during their schedule shift
• Must be willing to assist in other areas and perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for 90% of the day
• Must be able to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must have good basic reading and math skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic computer skills required
• SAP experience required
• Excellent time management skills needed
• Ability to operate without direct supervision
• A Minimum of 6 months as a Material Handler 2 or relevant experience
• Forklift experience and certification required
• No safety violations in the past 6 months
• Attendance violations must be below 3 points
• Willingness and ability to fill in as a shift lead as needed
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with other departments and individuals at all levels of the company
