Job Title: Senior Account Executive
The Senior Account Executive Inks serves as the primary commercial and technical liaison between Flint Group and key Narrow Web customers. This role is responsible for driving profitable growth through strategic account management, solution-based selling, and deep application expertise in water-based and UV-curable inks and coatings.
Acting as a trusted advisor, the Senior Account Executive aligns customer objectives with Flint Group’s portfolio, leads complex sales engagements, and ensures successful product adoption through close coordination with technical, R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams. This position balances revenue ownership with technical leadership to deliver sustainable customer value and long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Account & Revenue Leadership
- Own and manage a portfolio of strategic Narrow Web customer accounts, with full responsibility for revenue growth, margin performance, and account profitability.
- Develop and execute account strategies and growth plans aligned with customer business objectives and Flint Group’s commercial priorities.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities, including product conversions, line extensions, and expansion into new applications or technologies.
- Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements in collaboration with regional management.
Technical & Solution-Based Selling
- Leverage deep knowledge of water-based and UV-curable inks and coatings to position Flint Group as a solutions partner rather than a commodity supplier.
- Lead and coordinate press trials, product introductions, and technical validations in support of commercial objectives.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for complex technical challenges that impact customer satisfaction or business continuity,
- Translate technical performance, process improvements, and sustainability benefits into clear customer value propositions.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships across customer organizations, including operations, quality, purchasing, and leadership teams.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for customer performance, satisfaction, and issue resolution.
- Partner closely with Technical Service, ensuring aligned messaging, efficient deployment of resources, and proactive customer support.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, regulatory, and marketing teams to deliver differentiated, customer-specific solutions.
- Provide market and customer feedback to guide product development, innovation priorities, and portfolio strategy.
- Ensure alignment between commercial commitments and operational capabilities.
Business Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation, sales forecasts, opportunity pipelines, and account activity reporting.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to inform sales strategy and customer engagement.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including product stewardship and VOC requirements.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in narrow web flexographic and/or gravure printing, with a strong blend of commercial and technical responsibility.
- Proven success selling water-based and UV-curable inks and coatings for labels and packaging applications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage strategic accounts, drive revenue growth, and lead complex customer engagements.
- Strong working knowledge of pressroom operations, ink/substrate interactions, curing and drying systems, and surface treatments.
- High level of technical credibility with the ability to translate performance into commercial value.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills at multiple organizational levels.
- Strategic thinker with disciplined account planning and execution capabilities.
- Comfortable operating independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70%) to support customer and business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with color management systems (e.g., X-Rite) and print quality optimization.
- Understanding of laminations, coatings, and post-print converting processes.
- Familiarity with sustainability initiatives, VOC compliance, and regulatory frameworks within the packaging industry.
