Job Title: Site Superintendent
Site Superintendent – Beaufort, SC
Reports To: Operations Manager
Travel: 10%
Role Summary:
The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations long-term and managing capital expenditure (CapEx) projects at the facility. This role ensures all work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The Superintendent serves as the on-site leader coordinating internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Operations
- Safety Performance for maintenance team and contractors collaborating with maintenance on site.
- Overall routine, preventative and corrective maintenance activities across the site
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures
- Lead all RCA for mechanical failures
- Ensure equipment reliability, uptime utilization and operational efficiency based on OEE trends
Capex Project Management
- Plan, coordinate and execute all capital and new investment projects from initiation through closeout
- Manage the Capex budget for new installs, equipment upgrades and maintenance repairs
- Manage external contractors related to Capex projects
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering and leaderships across division
- Review scopes of work, coordinate meetings and manage grant chart timelines
Preventative and Predictive
- Have a systematic approach on usage by machine
- Manage asset life span to reduce catastrophic failures
- Implement daily inspections into long-term solutions by implemented detailed processes by departments
- Understanding all of critical spares, parts and oversight of managing stock levels
- Utilizing vibration analysis, thermal imaging of electrical panels and oil analysis
Budgeting
- Oversight of Maintenance and Wastewater budgets
- Identify cost savings opportunities by collaborating with procurement and engineering teams.
- Approve and manage all site level vendor contracts
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain, manage all maintenance, grounds & keeping and project documentation
- Implementation of regularly audits and inspections
- Provide regular updates on downtime by reason, project progress, costs and uptime
Key Metrics
- Safety performance
- Preventative maintenance compliance
- Planned maintenance percentage (PM) versus actual completion
- Maintenance backlog on pending orders
- Mean time to repair (MTTR)
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, industrial management, manufacturing or related fields
- 8-12 years of experience of in maintenance, wastewater, manufacturing or operations leadership roles
- Hands on with heavy machinery
- Strong expertise in root cause and corrective action systems
Preferred
- Demonstrated track record of driving maintenance excellence programs in manufacturing through performance metrics
- Led multiple capex projects through new investments
- Can drive change management through processes
