Job Title:  Manager, Maintenance

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance operations to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing environment. This role drives equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, continuous improvement initiatives, capital projects, and regulatory compliance while supporting production objectives and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with Flint Group safety standards and all applicable DOT, OSHA, EPA, and NFPA regulations.
  • Maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and product quality through preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Support production schedules with a customer-first mindset to meet operational and delivery objectives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and technical support to maintenance personnel and the facility.
  • Manage maintenance and capital improvement projects from planning through execution.
  • Develop, implement, and audit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Visual Work Instructions (VWIs).
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members while fostering accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report key maintenance KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance and asset reliability.
  • Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining strong communication and emotional intelligence.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, contractor relationships, spare parts inventory, and equipment lifecycle planning.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing management experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in an ink or chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with long-term, mid-range, and daily maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial safety requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, and move throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work on elevated platforms as needed.
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery, mechanical equipment, and industrial production processes.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to respond to maintenance emergencies, including working outside of normal business hours when necessary.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and other manufacturing conditions while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
